It’s primetime football, and tonight we’ve got a classic AFC showdown as the Baltimore Ravens head south to take on the Miami Dolphins. Both teams come in trying to get right, but for bettors, this one sets up with clear angles on both the total and the side.
Starting with the Total (50.5)
At first glance, everything screams Over. Baltimore’s gone Over in seven of its last eight, and Miami’s done it in six of its last seven, including nine straight home Overs. These two have also hit the Over in five straight head-to-head meetings.
But numbers alone don’t tell the full story. Baltimore plays slow and methodical, ranking near the bottom in plays per game but among the top in yards per play. They average 133 rushing yards at 5.3 yards per carry, while Miami’s defense is allowing 145 rushing yards per game. That kind of matchup usually means sustained drives and time of possession dominance for the Ravens. Miami’s offense, averaging just 21.7 points per game, has struggled against strong defensive fronts.
So while both teams can score, tempo might hold this game under. The lean here is still to the Over 50.5, but only with Medium-Low confidence due to Baltimore’s ground-heavy pace.
The Side (Ravens -7) – Top Play of the Night
This is where the stronger play lies. The Ravens have owned Miami for years, going 10–2 ATS in their last 12 and 6–1 ATS in Miami. They’re also 6–0 straight up in Week 9 games, a nod to their midseason form under John Harbaugh.
Baltimore’s offense is putting up nearly 30 points per game, fueled by an elite rushing attack and a quarterback who keeps defenses guessing. Miami’s defense ranks 28th against the run, and when you pair that with a Ravens defense that can bend but not break, the matchup tilts hard toward Baltimore.
Expect the Ravens to wear down Miami early and control both lines of scrimmage. Miami will need explosive plays to hang around, but Baltimore’s game plan limits possessions and big-play chances.
Picks Recap
– Total: Over 50.5 (Medium-Low Confidence)
– Side: Ravens -7 (Medium-High Confidence, Top Play of the Night)
Baltimore’s experience, physicality, and rushing edge make them the team to back under the Thursday night lights.
